AirTreks vs. the Alliance Fares

Tickets from AirTreks do not have the many restrictions as the Alliance fares. When planning your RTW journey consider making a wish list of must see places. AirTreks will get you just about anywhere in the world, in any city order you want, as long as we have the fare. The Alliance fares have limitations on the maximum number of stopovers for certain regions along with the countries and cities you can travel to, so you will not have complete control of traveling the way you want to. AirTreks, on the other hand, will make every effort to book you on any trip imaginable.

With AirTreks…

You can travel in any direction that you want, going forward, backward and side-to-side. The direction you travel is your choice. If we see that it makes more sense to have you go a different route in order to save you money and make your trip more efficient, we will certainly inform you.

With the Alliance…

You must travel in one continuous direction with no backtracking.

With AirTreks…

You can travel any distance and for any duration since it is your journey. If you would rather create a beautiful spider web for a route, by all means, please do. We place no limits on distance traveled. And it’s not just around-the-world (RTW) itineraries that we offer; we construct a fair amount of multi-stop international (MSI) itineraries for our clients who have no need to circumnavigate the world.

With the Alliance…

Your options are restricted to about four fare levels of up to 26,000, 29,000, 34,000 or 39,000 miles. And your journey may last any time between ten days and a year.

With AirTreks…

You don’t always have to return to your original departure destination. Why would we want to keep you from ending your journey somewhere new? It’s not our right to require that you return home.

With the Alliance…

You must begin and end your journey in the same country.

With AirTreks…

Go to as many places as you like. There is no limit on the number of stops.

With the Alliance…

You are able to take as few as 3 stopovers (4 with “oneworld”), or as many as 15 (or 20 with “oneworld”) in different cities (within the maximum permitted mileage). Essentially, you would have to trim your“wish list”even further.

Why not have the flexibility to choose your locations, the order of your visits, an unlimited number of miles you want to travel, and more importantly, to have your trip end in a different destination from where you started.
