This section covers a very practical matter for RTW travelers: what gear you actually need for your trip, and what to pack it in. Just remember, packing less is almost always better. If you really need an item you left at home after you’re on the road, chances are you can rent it (ideally) or worst-case scenario, buy it.

A good place to start is Luggage Limits. These guys list every flight known to man and will give you, yes, the weight and measurement limits for luggage you can take.

Check every flight you’ll be using (that you know about) and see if what you’re planning to bring meets the airlines’ restrictions.

Take a look at these subsections for more information packing and gear for RTW travel.
